VIPD Arrest Market Street Robbery Suspect

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On April 11, 2026, at about 12:14 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received ShotSpotter notification of shots being fired in the area of Market Street in Christiansted. In addition to a report of a robbery in the area. 

Responding officers made contact with numerous victims who disclosed being robbed at gunpoint. The victims were not injured during the robbery. The investigation revealed that Roman Sanchez also known as “Buck” was the suspect in this robbery.

On May 21, 2026, the Honorable Judge of the Superior Court issued an arrest warrant for Roman Sanchez and a search warrant for his residence. He is charged with Robbery first degree, Carrying firearm openly or concealed, Possession or sale ammunition, Carrying a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence, Assault third, Reckless Endangerment first, and discharging or aiming firearm. His bail was set at $100,000.00.  On May 28, 2026, members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau and Special Operations Bureau executed the warrants. Sanchez, 40, was placed under arrest, booked and subsequently transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing on Friday, May 29, 2026.
