St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands — A School Security Bureau Officer was notified of a child abuse case at the St. Croix Educational Complex at approximately 12:43 p.m. on October 7, 2026.
An investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested the suspect, Wendy Freeman, 40 and charged her with Child Abuse and Simple Assault and Battery.
Bail was not set in accordance with the Domestic Violence law. Freeman was booked and transported to the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility, pending her Advice of Rights Hearing.
