Two Injured in Shooting at Lorraine Village, Police Searching for Suspect

JANIGH GONZALVES WANTED FOR SHOOTING AT LORRAINE VILLAGE ON JUNE 29, 2026 .

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On June 29, 2026, at 8:48 a.m., the St. Croix 911 Emergency Call Center received a report that a male and female were shot multiple times at Lorraine Village.

Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) and Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched.

Both victims were transported to Juan F. Luis Hospital via ambulance and remain in stable condition.

VIPD is searching for the suspect, 22-year-old Janigh Gonsalves, who is wanted in connection to this shooting. He is described as a black male with light complexion, weighs approximately 125 pounds, stands at about 5’6”, has black hair in a twisted style, brown eyes, and has a birthmark on his chest. Gonsalves frequents Lorraine Village, Aureo Diaz and Grove Place. He is also known to be armed and dangerous.
