St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – The Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) is requesting the public’s assistance following a break-in at Optimistic Jewelry Design & Repair, located on Main Street, which occurred on, June 27, 2026, sometime around 5:00 a.m.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau responded to reports of a burglary at the establishment. Investigation revealed that the suspects gained unauthorized access and once inside, they removed jewelry, before fleeing the area in an SUV.
The following morning, the VIPD responded to an attempted break-in at Valentines Jewelers, located on Raadets Gade that occurred around 2:00 a.m. on June 28, 2026. Initial investigation revealed that two individuals attempted to gain entry by cutting the lock on the establishment however, the activation of the alarm system prompted the suspects to flee the scene.
As crime rates have been increasing in our community, the VIPD recognizes the critical need for collaboration with our residents. We urge anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area of Optimistic Jewelers or who may have information related to this incident to step forward. Your input is invaluable to our efforts in keeping our community safe for our children and families.
