Suspect Wanted for Robbery Case on St. Thomas, Now In Custody

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at about 5:00 p.m., Mr. Dinet Estime, a 40-year-old male, was placed under arrest after he was identified by the victim as the individual who assaulted her and took her gold chain on December 6, 2024. The victim stated that Mr. Estime approached her and her current boyfriend and began creating a disturbance. She said that Mr. Estime slapped her, grabbed her by her neck, then proceeded to yank her gold jewelry from her neck. The victim complained of neck pain and sustained injuries as a result of the assault and robbery.

Mr. Estime turned himself into the Domestic Violence Unit where he was advised of his rights and interviewed. He admitted to taking the chain and pendant but denied the other allegations. Estime faces charges of Robbery Second Degree, Grand Larceny (DV), Simple Assault (DV), and Disturbance of the Peace (DV). He was turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advise of Rights Hearing.
