St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 9:40 a.m., discharging of shots were reported in the southern area of the Sunny Isles Shopping Center parking lot. As a result, an adult Hispanic male sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was transported via ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Hospital. The male subsequently succumbed as a result of his injuries. The victim was positively identified by a next of kin as 42-year-old Alex A. Burgos.
