St. John Man Arrested for Discharging Shots in Two Locations on St. John in December 2024

St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Monday, December 9, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the shot spotter alert system notified 911 of shots being fired in the area of Mongoose Junction. On Thursday, December 12, 2024, at approximately 1:27 a.m., officers were dispatched to Upstairs Bar and Grill in reference to a report of shots being fired. In both cases, spent casings were recovered. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect responsible for discharging shots in both instances was identified as Mr. Jose Bolques.

An arrest warrant was subsequently obtained for Mr. Jose Bolques. On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., 39-year-old Bolques turned himself in at the Leander Jurgen Command located on St. John. He faces charges of Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Reckless Endangerment, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm within 1,000 feet of a Housing Community/Preschool. His bail was set at $50,000.00.
