Officers Found Vehicle in Ravine after Crash on East Airport Road

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On March 28, 2025, the operator of a 2011 Jeep Cherokee who was traveling eastbound on East Airport Road lost control of the vehicle and subsequently fell into a ravine. The driver was not wearing a seat belt. 

St. Croix Rescue and Bates Trucking assisted with the recovery of the vehicle and driver out of the ravine. Emergency Medical Technician determined he was deceased, and he was identified by next of kin as 66-year-old Micheal R. King.

The cause of death will be determined upon the completion of the autopsy. This case is currently under investigation by the Virgin Islands Port Authority with assistance from the Virgin Islands Police Department Traffic Investigation Bureau Commander in the St. Croix District.
