St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands — On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at approximately 8:09 a.m., a concerned citizen called 911 and reported that they found an unresponsive male, in a building that was under renovation near the Rotschild Francis Market Square.
Patrol Officers and Detectives traveled to the location and observed a male on the second floor of the building. The cause of death is an apparent hanging; the manner of death is unknown at this time, pending further investigation and an autopsy.
The male was identified by next of kin as 41-year-old Chase M. Shaw.
