St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands — On May 12, 2026, at approximately 8:17 a.m., the St. Croix 911 Emergency Call Center received a ShotSpotter notification of numerous rounds fired in the Mon Bijou area. Several citizens also reported shots fired and a male victim suffering from gunshot injuries at that location.
Officers and Emergency Medical Technicians responded to the scene and discovered a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified by next of kin as 47-year-old Kaleem O. Iles.
This incident is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
