St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On July 22, 2026, at approximately 11:06 a.m., while Detectives were on patrolling duties, they observed a woman identified as Alexis Vazquez, pulling a minor by the hair and forcibly jerking the child.
Detectives intervened and Vazquez became belligerent and refused to comply with Detectives.
Alexis Vazquez, 35, was placed under arrest and charged with Child Abuse and Simple Assault and Battery – Domestic Violence.
Vazquez was transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station where she was booked. No bail was set in this matter. Vazquez was then transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending her Advice of Rights Hearing set for July 23, 2026, at the Superior Court.
