St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – Officers arrested 68-year-old Francisco Salas for Driving under the influence onSunday, July 19, 2026.
At approximately 8:40 p.m., officers observed a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of Northside Road. Officers initiated an investigation after the driver turned into G-Max Service Station. There, they made contact with the driver, who was identified as Franciso Salas. During the investigation, officers suspected that Salas was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Salas refused to submit to a Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and refused to provide a breath sample for an Intoximeter Test. As a result, he was placed under arrest and charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
Salas was transported to the John A. Bell Correctional Facility, where he was remanded pending his Advise of Rights Hearing.
