U.S. Virgin Islands – As Super Bowl celebrations kick off across the territory, the Virgin Islands Police Department/Office of Highway Safety (VIPD/OHS) is reminding fans that the most important play of the night happens after the final whistle – getting home safely.
Super Bowl Sunday is one of the most dangerous days of the year on our roadways. Every year, alcohol- and drug-impaired driving leads to crashes, injuries, and lives cut short. One bad decision can change everything for you, your friends, or your family.
Whether you’re cheering at a friend’s home, or your favorite bar, or a community viewing party, plan your ride before the first whistle. Arrange a designated driver, share the keys with someone sober, or stay overnight if needed. Hosting a party? Look out for your guests and make sure no one drives impaired.
“Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk,” said VIOHS Impaired Driving Program Manager, K’Tonya Petrus. “Don’t fumble the finish. Celebrate smart, drive sober, and get home safe.”
“Make the winning play – Arrive Alive and Celebrate Responsibly.”
