St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Monday, September 28, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the gunshot detection system alerted personnel that multiple gunshots were fired on Veterans Drive. Patrol Officers traveled to the scene and made contact with a female who sustained at least one gunshot wound. The female was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.
Next of kin identified the female as 21- year-old J’Niya Rambaran.
