
St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – The 911 Emergency Call Center received a call on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 2:54 p.m. reporting an accident involving a truck and a bike. They were also notified that the bike was on fire and the rider was ejected.
Responding officers observed an unresponsive male lying on the ground near the New Hernhut sign on Weymouth Rhymer Highway.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the bike collided into the truck, then struck a vehicle traveling in the opposite lane and subsequently caught on fire.
The male sustained life-threatening injuries and succumbed to his injuries on the scene. He was identified by a next of kin as 26-year-old Darlin Arias.
