ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — The Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) is advising the public of the upcoming relocation of its offices currently housed at the Criminal Justice Complex (CJC) to the Government Employees’ Retirement System (GERS) Building.
The physical relocation is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 7, 2026. As a result, the affected VIPD offices will remain closed to the public on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, to allow personnel to organize and establish operations at the new location.
Normal operations are expected to resume on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
The following public service hours will be in effect at the new location:
Records Bureau
Monday – Friday
8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Fingerprints Bureau
Monday – Friday
8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Firearms Bureau
Monday – Thursday
8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Closed to the public on Fridays
Members of the public who require services from these offices are encouraged to plan accordingly and take note of the updated service hours when visiting the new location.
The VIPD appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as the Department transitions to its new location. The relocation is part of the Department’s continued efforts to provide a functional and accessible environment for its personnel while maintaining quality service to the community.
Additional information regarding the specific location of these offices within the GERS Building and any changes to available services will be provided as necessary.
