
St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On August 2, 2026, at approximately 2:50 p.m., officers were dispatched by the VITEMA 911 Emergency Call Center to investigate a reported disturbance after the complainant requested police assistance in removing a female from their yard.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the complainant at the residence. While on scene, a female identified as 18-year-old Kalyla Mounsey threatened the complainant and hit the complainant in the chest in the presence of the officers. Mounsey was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Simple Assault and Battery and Disturbance of the Peace.
Bail was set in the amount of $1000.00. Unable to post bail, Mounsey was remanded into custody of John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending her Advice of Rights Hearing.
