St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Thursday, June 25, 2026, at approximately 6:35 a.m., a concerned citizen called the 911 Emergency Call Center to report seeing a male lying on the side of the road, in the area of Mahogony Run Villas.
VIPD Patrol Units traveled to the scene and discovered an unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Emergency Medical Technicians concluded that the male did not have any vital signs.
Next of kin identified the male as 34-year-old Michiah Morton.
Investigators believe that the shooting incident occurred between 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. on June 24th. Anyone that might have been in the area around that time and observed any suspicious activity or unknown vehicles is urged to contact the VIPD with whatever information they may have. All tips are valuable regardless of how small and insignificant they may seem.
