St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On April 19, 2026, at approximately 9:42 p.m., a female guest at the Carambola Beach Resort reported to the 911 Emergency Call Center that she was physically assaulted in her hotel room.
A Criminal Investigation Bureau Detective’s investigation revealed that the suspect, Matthew Gregg, physically assaulted the victim, leaving visible injuries to her face and neck area.
Gregg, 50, was arrested, processed and booked. He was charged with Assault Second DV. No bail was set in this matter as per the Domestic Violence law. Gregg was then transported and remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing set for April 21, 2026, at the Superior Court.
