St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – The Virgin Islands Police Department advises the public that on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at approximately 4:50 a.m., the 911 Emergency Communications Center received a ShotSpotter notification indicating over 200 rounds fired in the Peter’s Rest area, in the vicinity of Carlos Bar, Christiansted.
Shortly after, multiple residents in the area also contacted 911 reporting a significant amount of gunfire being discharged.
Moments later, personnel from the Juan F. Luis Hospital notified authorities that two gunshot victims were transported to the hospital by a private vehicle. Both individuals are currently receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained.
VIPD officers, along with detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the Forensic Unit, responded to both the scene and the hospital. This incident remains actively under investigation.
