VIPD Arrest 18-year-old Male for Alleged Rape of Minor

St. Thomas, Virgin Islands – On Saturday, December 13, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., detectives and officers of the Virgin Islands Police Department were dispatched to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital in reference to a rape. Upon arrival contact was made with the minor female victim and her mother. The victim stated that the incident occurred at her residence on December 12, 2025, during a power outage between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. She also stated that the suspect, Jahkeim Bourgeois, used physical force to overcome resistance and forcibly penetrated her.

On Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m., while executing an arrest warrant for Bourgeois, officers from the Intel Unit and Special Operations Bureau discovered that Bourgeois was in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Jahkeim Bourgeois, 18, was then placed under arrest, booked, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights Hearing. He was charged with Aggravated Rape in the First Degree, Unlawful Sexual Contact in the First Degree, Child Abuse, Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm. His bail was set at $75,000.00.

This case is currently under investigation by the Domestic Violence/Special Victim Unit. Anyone who has information about this crime can notify 911, the Domestic Violence Unit at 340-715-5535, or the Office of the Police Chief.
