
St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On November 16, 2025, at approximately 12:22 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a domestic disturbance. A Detective from the Domestic Violence Unit was assigned to investigate this matter. The victim disclosed that Jose Acosta Jr. damaged her vehicle, entered her home blocking her path. The victim disclosed that an argument ensued and when she attempted to leave the home Acosta Jr. stabbed her with a knife, causing visible injuries and he stole some of her belongings.
On November 18, 2025, Detectives of the Domestic Violence Unit and Criminal Investigation Bureau made contact with 37-year-old Jose Acosta Jr. He was detained and transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station where he was advised of his Miranda Rights. Acosta Jr. faces charges of False Imprisonment, Assault First Degree, Assault Third Degree, Robbery Second Degree, Disturbance of the Peace, Carrying or Using a Dangerous Weapon, and Destruction to Property. He was booked, and no bail was set in this matter. Acosta Jr. was then remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights Hearing on November 19, 2025.
