St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – We have been experiencing multiple auto collisions on St. Thomas and would like to caution motorists to drive safely. The Virgin Islands Police Department advises the public to be mindful and drive responsibly during the carnival season.
Lt. Lionel Bess, VIPD’s STT/STJ Traffic Commander, would like to provide some traffic safety tips for motorists to adhere to.
- Please adhere to all safety protocols and traffic signs
- No driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- No texting while driving
- No speeding while driving, follow speed limit
- Proceed with caution in dark areas and around corners
- Be cautious of pedestrians along the roadway
- Visitors, remember to drive on the left
- For pedestrians, look both ways before crossing the street and always use the crosswalk
