
St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Saturday, April 12, 2025, at approximately 8:11 p.m., the Patrol Bureau responded to an auto accident that occurred on the Plessen Road in the vicinity of the Seven Days Adventist Church in Grove Place, where Mr. Ervin Christophe was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
When Officers arrived on the scene, they met with both drivers that were in involved in the accident. The first driver stated that he was traveling south, and Mr. Christophe was heading north when he observed Christophe swerved into his lane, at which he swerved out of his path however, Christophe collided into his vehicle.
The officer smelled a strong odor of alcohol emanating from Christophe’s breath. When asked if he drank any alcoholic beverage Christophe stated that he had two bottles of Heineken beers approximately one and a half hours earlier.
The officers observed that Mr. Christophe’s eyes were glossy and watery, his speech was slurred, and he staggered as he walked. He was administered a field sobriety test which he failed and was detained, transported to the Wilbur Francis Command where he consent to a Intoximeter and blew above the legal limits.
Upon 65-year-old Ervin Christophe’s arrest, he surrendered his V.I. driver’s license in lieu of bail.
