St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Friday, June 26, 2026, at around 7:07 p.m., the St. Croix 911 Emergency Call Center received a ShotSpotter notification, along with multiple calls reporting shots fired in the vicinity of the WMJR Service Station in Sion Farm.
The Virgin Islands Police Department, Emergency Medical Services, and other emergency personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, responders discovered an unresponsive adult male who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Next of kin identified the male as Pedro Melendez Sanes, age 50.
The suspect of this shooting was apprehended at the scene.
