VIPD Investigates Series of Burglaries on St. Thomas

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – The Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) is investigating a series of burglaries on St. Thomas and kindly ask for assistance in solving these crimes.

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 3:42 a.m., Officers responded to a burglary in Havensight area of Rum Hut. Officers met with security personnel who stated that they observed several unknown individuals running from Rum Hut bar and fled the area in a white SUV. Security then discovered that the door to the establishment was damaged and left ajar.

On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at approximately 3:20 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call from the store owner of Goldland Jewelry store, reporting a break in. The caller stated that two unidentified males forcefully gained entry through the front entrance of Goldland Jewelry store, located on Main Street. Video footage indicates that the intruders removed numerous items from the store. Upon the activation of the alarm, they exited the store; one armed with a hammer, and the other with a drill.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a call on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at approximately 4:23 a.m., from the restaurant manager of Duffy’s Love Shack, who called the to report a break in at the business. The caller further reported that, he received a call from the alarm company in reference to an activated alarm. He then looked at his camera and observed two individuals who entered the bar restaurant and went into the cash register. The victim concluded that the two suspects who entered the bar restaurant left the area in a dark colored SUV.

On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at approximately 4:32 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call regarding a break in at the One Communication store at Tutu Park Mall. Investigation revealed that a black SUV reversed multiple times into the stationary poles located at the main entrance of Tutu Park Mall. Approximately four to five unidentified males later exited the vehicle, entered the store unlawfully, and took several iPhones from the store. Investigation further revealed that the driver may be a female and that prior to their departure the rear bumper of the vehicle was left behind with no tag attached to same.

The VIPD is urging anyone with information about any of these incidents to contact the Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211, 911, Crime Stoppers V.I. at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS), directly to the Chief’s Office at 340-715-5579 or the Commissioner’s Office at 340-715-5506. The VIPD has assured that all tips will be kept confidential, and contributors can remain anonymous.
