St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands –The Virgin Islands Police Department advises the community of upcoming events that with affect traffic in Frederiksted and Christiansted town on May 24 and May 29, 2026. The following events and their respective restrictions are:
Sunday, May 24, 2026 – American Legion Hall Pre-Memorial Ceremony
A roadblock will be implemented from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. along Strand Street, from the intersection of Strand Street and Hill Street to the intersection of Strand Street and Market Street in Frederiksted. This is for the American Legion Hall Pre-Memorial Ceremony at the Verne I. Richards Veteran Memorial Park.
- No northbound traffic will be allowed on Strand Street during this roadblock.
- NO PARKING will be permitted on Strand Street between Hill Street and Market Street beginning at 2:00 p.m. Vehicles parked in the restricted area during that time frame will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
Tuesday, May 26, 2026 – Senior Citizens Affair Quelbe Tramp
The Department of Human Services will host a Quelbe Tramp beginning at the corner of Strand Street and Fisher Street, continuing north on Strand Street, ending at Buddhoe Park. The Tramp begins at 10:00 a.m. SHARP. A roadblock will be implemented at 9:30 a.m. SHARP.
- NO PARKING will be allowed on Strand Street from Fisher Street to the Ann E. Abrahamson Marine Facility from 8:00 a.m. until the completion of the Tramp.
- NO PARKING will be allowed on the northern side of the Custom House building or the UCA building from 8:00 a.m. until the completion of the Tramp.
- Parking will be allowed in the parking lot between UCA and Custom House buildings.
- NO TRAFFIC will be allowed onto Strand Street from the intersecting streets beginning at 9:00 a.m. Said side streets will be accessible for parking only from King Street.
Friday, May 29, 2026 – CRRA Jump Up Event
NO PARKING will be allowed on King Street, Christiansted from the intersection of King Street and King Cross Street (Florence Williams Library) to the intersection of King Street and Church Street (King Christian Hotel) from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
NO PARKING will be allowed on Queen Cross Street from the intersection of Queen Cross Street and Company Street (Riddims) down to the Caravelle Casino from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
NO PARKING will be allowed on Company Street, from the intersection of Company Street and Church Street (Sonya’s Jewelry) to the intersection of Company Street and Queen Cross Street (Hamilton’s) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
NO eastbound traffic will be allowed on King Street from the Florence Williams Library. A roadblock will be in place from 4:00 p.m., to ensure that all vendors of the Jump-Up event can set up safely. All eastbound traffic will be rerouted onto King Cross Street. Only vendors taking part in the Jump-Up Event will be allowed to pass the roadblock.
NO westbound traffic will be allowed onto Company Street from Hospital Street. A roadblock will be in place from 4:00 p.m. to ensure that all vendors of the Jump-Up event can set up safely. All westbound traffic will be rerouted onto Queen Street and around the Christiansted town area. The Virgin Islands Police Department thanks all motorists for their cooperation and for helping ensure these events are safe and enjoyable for everyone.
