Police Arrest 20-year-old Man for Damaging Property

St. Thomas, Virgin Islands – Officers responded to a report of a male causing damage to property in Estate Mariendahl on Monday, February 16, 2026, at approximately 10:44 a.m. Officers met with the complainant and her sister, the suspect’s partner. The complainant explained that around 10:00 a.m., she had arrived at the residence and heard J’Lorn Henley, shouting about the whereabouts of his phone and he then began throwing rocks at the house. The complainant observed him searching her sister’s black Acura, for his phone. Unable to locate the phone, he moved toward the porch door where he proceeded to bang on the door until it cracked. The complainant further reported seeing Henley holding a knife, which he used to damage the hood of the black Acura and to slash the right front tire of the complainant’s vehicle.

J’Lorn Henley, age 20, was later located and detained by officers. He was positively identified as the person responsible for the property damage. While in custody in a police vehicle, Henley damaged the vehicle’s door, rendering it unable to close properly. He was subsequently arrested, booked and processed. Henley was charged with Disturbance of the Peace, Destruction of Property DV, Destruction of Government Property and then transferred to the Bureau of Corrections to await his Advice of Rights Hearing. Due to the Domestic Violence statute, Henley was not granted bail.
