Man Arrested After Firing Shot as Victim Drove By

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On January 29, 2026, at approximately 7:49 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of shots being fired in the Estate Calquohoun residential area. Upon the arrival of the responding Detectives and Patrol Officers they made contact with the victim who stated that Cliffe Richards fired a gunshot directly at her while she drove by his vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that the victim drove by Richards’ vehicle and he then fired a gunshot into the victim’s vehicle with his licensed firearm. The victim sustained a graze as a result of the shot and visible damages to her vehicle. Contact was made with a witness who indicated that Richards fired a gunshot into the victim’s vehicle as she drove past his vehicle.

Contact was made with Richards who was advised of his Miranda Rights. He indicated that he felt threatened by the victim and fired one gunshot at her vehicle with his licensed firearm.

Cliffe Richards, 56, was detained and transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station where he was booked. He was charged with Attempted Murder First, Assault First, Brandishing, exhibiting, or using deadly weapon, Reckless First, Assault Third and Carrying or using dangerous weapon. He was unable to post bail which was set at $100,000.00 and was remanded to the John Bell Adult Correction Facility pending Advice of Rights on January 30, 2026.
