St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, a victim reported being involved in a physical altercation with an individual at the Double Play Sports Bar. During the incident, the perpetrator brandished a firearm and pointed it at the victim’s abdomen. The investigation identified the suspect as Charlie Marte.
At approximately 1:35 a.m., on September 27, 2026, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested, 34-year-old, Charlie Marte and charged him with Assault First Degree, Possession or Use of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Carrying or Using a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying of a Firearm; Openly or Concealed, Brandishing/Using a Deadly Weapon, Reckless Endangerment and Disturbance of the Peace.
Marte was booked, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing. His bail was set at $50,000.00.
