U.S. Virgin Islands –As residents and visitors prepare to celebrate Labor Day weekend, the Virgin Islands Police Department/Office of Highway Safety (VIPD/OHS) is reminding motorists: If you’re impaired, Don’t Drive.
As part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, motorists should expect increased patrols and high-visibility enforcement throughout the holiday weekend. VIPD officers will be in force conducting high-visibility patrols and targeted enforcement to identify and remove impaired drivers from our roadways.
Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing medications puts everyone on the road at risk. One poor decision can change lives forever. Make a plan:
- Designate a sober driver before you go out.
- Stay alert and distraction- free.
- Never drive impaired or drowsy.
- Buckle up – every trip, every time.
