K-9 and Patrol Officers Assisted by Juvenile Bureau in Apprehending Suspects in Precious Jewelers Store Robbery

St. Thomas, Virgin Islands – On Friday, February 13, 2026, at 12:10 p.m., VITEMA 911 Call Center received a call from a citizen on Main Street, who stated that there were mask men inside the Precious Jewelers Store. VIPD officers and detectives immediately responded.

Upon officers’ arrival, an inspection of the area was conducted for 4 masked males dressed in all black. During the inspection, 4 male minors dressed in black, fitting the description were detained and transported to the Juvenile Bureau. The minors’ parents were present, and they were read their Warning as to Rights which they waived and provided statements. During the interviews one of the minors admitted to conspiring in the robbery. That minor was placed in Protective Custody and charged with Attempted Robbery. The minor was booked, processed and released into the custody of his parents pending his Advice of Rights Hearing.
