Investigation into November 13 Shooting Incident at Housing Community Resulted in Swift Arrest of 44-year-old Suspect

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On November 13, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received calls and ShotSpotter notifications of shots being fired in the John F. Kennedy Housing Apartments (JFK). Units were dispatched and upon the officers’ arrival they contacted witnesses in the area who disclosed that Waldo Knight was the person who discharged the shots.

Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau were assigned to investigate this matter and obtained a telephonic warrant from an Honorable Judge of the Superior Court. A search of the apartment that Knight entered after firing the shots was carried out, and a firearm and numerous firearm paraphernalia were located. Waldo Knight, 44, was placed under arrest for Reckless Endangerment First, Carrying of Firearm openly or concealed, Possession or sale of ammunition and illegal discharge of a firearm.

Knight was placed under arrest and transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station. He was advised of his Miranda Rights and declined to give a statement. Knight was booked and unable to post bail at $30,000.00 and $50,000.00. He was subsequently transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing.
