
St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – The 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a disturbance in progress at Bethlehem Village Housing, on May 22, 2025, at approximately 8:35 a.m. Upon the arrival of the responding officers, they made contact with the victim who stated that Mr. Vernon Sackey Jr., who she has an existing restraining order against, came to her apartment without her permission. The victim told officers that Sackey Jr., pried open her window and pointed a firearm at her and other occupants inside her apartment.
Numerous attempts were made to apprehend Sackey Jr., with negative results. An arrest warrant was then signed by the Honorable Magistrate Judge of the Superior Court for Vernon Sackey Jr.’s arrest for Burglary in the first degree- DV. His bail was set at $100,000.00.
On December 31, 2025, at about 10:00 a.m., 27-year-old Vernon Sackey Jr. was apprehended and was transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station where he was advised of his Miranda Rights. Sackey Jr., was placed under arrest, booked and was unable to post bail. He was then remanded to the care and custody of the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing.
