ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — On Sunday, October 4, 2026, at approximately 7:47 a.m., a concerned citizen contacted the Virgin Islands Port Authority regarding a possible body in the water.
Responding Port Authority officers confirmed that there was an individual in the water. Port Authority officers along with citizens on the shoreline assisted in removing the individual from the water.
Upon the VIPD Detectives arrival, they observed an unresponsive male. Emergency Medical Personnel traveled on scene and concluded that the male did not have any signs of life. The identify of this male is unknown at this time and the cause of death is unknown, pending an autopsy.
