St. Thomas, Virgin Islands – On Thursday, January 1, 2026, at approximately 3:42 a.m., the 911 Call Center received a call concerning a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds in the area of Estate Contant. The victim was subsequently transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center for medical treatment.
Responding Officers arrived at Schneider Regional Medical Center and made contact with medical personnel who stated that the victim sustained at least two gunshot wounds to his left leg, another to the right arm and to the left femur.
The victim stated that he was sitting outside in the area of Contant when he was approached by four males. A verbal altercation ensued after which one of the males shot him. The victim declined to provide any additional information.
Anyone who has information regarding this incident is encouraged to notify the 911 Emergency Call Center or Detective E. Rijo of the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340- 774-2211. Anonymous tips may also be provided by contacting Crime Stoppers V.I. at 1-800-222-8477. The Virgin Islands Police Department assures the public that all tips will be kept confidential and that contributors will remain anonymous.
