CIB Investigation into Cane Bay Shooting Led to the Arrest of a 32-year-old Woman

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On September 15, 2024, at about 7:39 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received numerous calls of shots being fired in the Cane Bay area. Patrol and the Criminal Investigation Bureau units were dispatched to the area. Upon their arrival in the area, they received information of several vehicles being shot up, and that the suspects fled the area.

Investigation into this matter disclosed several suspects and the vehicles that fled the area. During this investigation contact was made with Ms. Amber Stanley who provided police with false information during her statement. Thereafter, on October 22, 2025, Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau obtained an arrest warrant from the Honorable Magistrate Judge of the Superior Court for Amber Stanley’s arrest. Bail for Ms. Stanley was set at $5,500.00.

On October 31, 2025, 32-year-old Amber Stanley was placed under arrest without incident and booked. Stanley was able to post bail and secured her release pending her Advice of Rights Hearing set for Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Superior Court.
