
St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On September 2, 2025, at approximately 2:16 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a burglary in progress in Mary’s Fancy residential area. Upon the arrival of the responding officers, they contacted the victim who stated that Jahthwan Barnes broke and entered her residence without permission.
A member of the Domestic Violence Unit/CIB responded and contacted the victim who stated that her residence was locked and secured before going to bed. She indicated that when she woke up during the night she observed Barnes on the bed.
Contact was made with 32-year-old Jahthwan Barnes, he was advised of his Miranda Rights. Barnes admitted entering the victim’s residence without permission. He was placed under arrest for Burglary in the Second Degree. No bail was set in this matter until seen by a judge. Barnes was booked and processed. He was then transported and remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing.
