ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — The Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) advises the
public that, due to the island-wide power outage affecting the St. Thomas-St. John District, all
administrative offices, including the Records and Firearms divisions, will remain closed on
Thursday, October 22, 2026.
This temporary closure applies only to non-essential employees. Essential employees are
expected to report for duty as scheduled unless otherwise directed by their supervisors.
The VIPD appreciates the public’s patience, understanding, and cooperation as the district
addresses the effects of the power outage.
