St. Thomas Woman Arrested in Red Hook Dock Assault

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) has arrested 21-year-old Kahiyla Charles, charging her with third-degree assault and disturbance of the peace.

The arrest follows a physical altercation that occurred after 3:00 a.m. on July 1, 2026, at the Urman Victor Fredericks Terminal (Red Hook Dock). During this incident, a female victim sustained significant head and facial injuries after being physically assaulted by Charles and other individuals, including minors. Footage of the altercation circulated widely on social media platforms and Charles was positively identified as a participant in the assault.

Charles was arrested and bail was set at $25,000.00.

This investigation is ongoing, and the VIPD anticipates additional arrests.
