Virgin Islands Police Department Encourages Safety During St. John Celebration

The Virgin Islands Police Department wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable St. John Celebration. As we come together to enjoy the festivities, we encourage residents and visitors alike to remain aware of their surroundings and look out for one another. Parents and guardians are especially urged to monitor their children’s whereabouts throughout the celebration.

Please keep the following safety tips in mind:

  • Do Not Sell Alcoholic Beverages to Minors
Vendors and establishments are reminded that the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors is prohibited. If there is any doubt about an individual’s age, request valid identification before making a sale.
  • Walk in Groups
Whenever possible, travel with family members or friends, especially during nighttime activities.
  • Stay Alert
Remain vigilant and aware of your surroundings at all times. Report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.
  • Lost Child Procedures
If you find a lost child or become separated from your child, notify the nearest law enforcement officer.
  • Parents and Guardians
Before attending celebration events, write the parent or guardian’s name, phone number, and the child’s name on a piece of paper and place it securely in the child’s pocket. This can assist law enforcement in quickly reuniting lost children with their families.

The Virgin Islands Police Department thanks everyone for their cooperation and wishes all a safe, enjoyable, and memorable St. John Celebration.
