Police Arrest Suspect in Burglary at Two St. John Businesses After Seen on Surveillance

St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Wednesday, June 16, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers of the Leander Jurgen Command were dispatched to Paradise Lumber and Hardware located in Susannaberg in reference to a burglary. Patrol officers were notified that an unknown suspect gained entry into the establishment through a window and rummaged through the business. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

While VIPD officers were onscene, they were notified of another burglary that occurred at Heading East Bar and Grill. Video footage was reviewed from both businesses, and Alan Beyer was identified as the male suspect in both matters.

On Thursday, June 17, 2026, Alan Beyer, 29, was placed under arrest and processed. He was charged with Burglary in the Third Degree and Petit Larceny. Unable to post bail in the amount of $51,000.00, Beyer was turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights hearing.
