St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On September 14, 2025, the 911 Emergency Call Center received numerous reports of shots fired in the Williams Delight area. A Detective with the Criminal Investigation Bureau was assigned to investigate this matter. The investigation revealed that Wakoi James was one of the shooters in this incident.
A warrant for Wakoi James’ arrest was subsequently issued. On May 11, 2026, 35-year-old James was present at the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station with his defense attorney. James was placed under arrest, booked and bail was not set in this matter pending his court appearance.
James faces charges including Reckless Endangerment First, Carrying firearm openly or concealed, Possession or sale of ammunition, Assault Third, and Illegal discharge of firearm. He was transported to the John A. Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing.
