
St. Croix, Virgin Islands – Police Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in progress in Mutual Homes at around 8:30 p.m. on May 9, 2025. While there, Officers observed Adiel Huertas sitting in a chair. When they approached Huertas, he ran inside of an apartment, leaving his cell phone, a plate of food, and a loaded magazine behind.
A Detective from the Criminal Investigation Bureau was assigned to investigate this case. On March 12, 2026, arrest and search warrants were signed by a Superior Court Judge for Adiel Huertas and his residence. His bail was set at $50,000.00.
On March 18, 2026, the warrants were executed by the Criminal Investigation Bureau and the Special Operations Bureau. Adiel Huertas, 20, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession or sale of ammunition. He was transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station, where he was booked, and transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing set for March 19, 2026, at the Superior Court.
