Police Respond to Shooting Incident Stemmed from Robbery in Coki Point

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – The Virgin Islands Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau is seeking the public’s assistance in gathering information related to a robbery.

On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Virgin Islands Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Coki Point. Surveillance footage revealed two males speaking to each other in the parking lot. Shortly after, one of the males, later identified as Albert Lindo III, approached the other male and forcibly removed a gold chain from his neck and placed it in his pocket. The victim walked away from Lindo, however, Lindo followed behind him. The victim then drew a firearm and fired multiple shots toward Lindo, who then drew a firearm from his waist and returned fire. The other male was able to flee the scene.

Albert Lindo III, age 33, was placed under arrest for Robbery, Possession of a Firearm, and Reckless Endangerment. His bail was set at $75,000.00.
