St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – The Virgin Islands Police Department advises the public that the USS Gerald Ford Navy Ship will be present within our territorial waters and wishes to inform the public of the following:
- All boaters are required to maintain a minimum distance of 200 yards from the Ship. Any vessels attempting to approach will be directed away.
- The operation of drones in the vicinity of the Ship is strictly prohibited. Unauthorized drones will be disabled.
- Members of the community are advised that sailors and service members will be present within our territory during this time.
As service members enjoy a piece of our paradise, let us be encouraged to extend our exceptional island hospitality and courtesy to our visiting service members.
