ATV Operator Arrested After Officers Discover Firearm

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – On Sunday, January 18, 2025, while on patrol, Special Operations Bureau Officers observed an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) obstructing the flow of traffic in the area of Nuvo Lounge on Norre Gade. Officers made contact with the operator of the ATV, who was later identified as Mr. Angel Guerrero, about the traffic infraction. Guerrero, who was wearing a satchel bag around his chest, immediately dismounted the ATV and fled the scene, discarding the satchel, which was retrieved shortly thereafter.

Guerrero was detained and Officers discovered that the ATV that he was operating was unregistered, uninsured and had illegal license plates affixed to it. It was also discovered that a handgun was inside of satchel that Guerrero wore around his chest. Angel Guerrero,25, was advised of his Rights and placed under arrest. He was charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Impeding the Flow of Traffic, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle, Operating an Unregistered Vehicle, and Illegal Transfer of Plates. His bail was set at $75,000.00.
