Economic Crimes Unit Arrest Former Magens Bay Authority Employee for Embezzlement

RENEE GEORGE-PRESIDENT

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – On February 24, 2025, the Economic Crime Unit initiated an investigation following a complaint file by the Magens Bay Authority regarding a former employee Renee George-President. The investigation determined through video surveillance that, on six separate occasions, Mrs. George-President, while working as a cashier, pocketed cash collected from entrance fees paid by patrons of Magens Bay Beach Park. These funds were the property of the Magens Bay Authority and were not authorized for her personal possession or use.

On November 20, 2025, 47-year-old Renee George-President turned herself in at the Economic Crime Unit and was placed under arrest and charged with Embezzlement By Employee and Grand Larceny. Bail was set at $55,000.00 by order of the court. She was then transported to the Richard Callwood Central Command for processing. Unable to post bail, Mrs. George-President was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her Advice of Rights hearing.
