St. Croix Man Faces Burglary Charges, After Found in Old First Bank Building

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On July 15, 2025, at approximately 12:10 a.m., while a detective was conducting checks on businesses on King Street in Christiansted town, he observed a male inside the old First Bank building. Upon making a check of the building he observed that it was broken into, and Orsel Edney was located inside the premises without any authorization.

This case was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Bureau and 33-year-old Orsel Edney was charged, booked and unable to post the $25,000.00 bail. He was charged with Burglary Third, Destruction to property, Trespass, and Unlawful entry. Edney was transported to the John A. Bell, Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility where he was remanded pending his Advice of Rights Hearing on Tuesday July 16, 2025, at the Superior Court.
