St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On June 15, 2025, at approximately 3:53 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of an assault in Estate St. Georges, and that the victim, an unconscious, elderly male, was being transported by ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Hospital Emergency Room. Upon the arrival of the responding Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives at the hospital, they made contact with the victim, who was unconscious and sustained a visible injury to his head. According to the witness, they were sleeping inside their home when they heard someone outside their residence asking for help. Upon making a check, they realized it was their neighbor, Mr. Travis Lawrence Jr.
Lawrence was invited inside the residence to render assistance; however, Lawrence locked the screen door behind him and began to attack the victim by punching him continuously in the face and head. Due to the extent of the injury, the victim will be airlifted off the island for further treatment.
Travis Lawrence was detained by the Patrol Bureau at the scene and transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital Emergency Room, where he was treated for minor cuts unrelated to the assault.
The Detectives arrested 35-year-old Travis Lawrence Jr., who was advised of his Miranda Rights. He was charged with Assault Third, Aggravated Assault and Battery and Mayhem. Lawrence declined to give a statement; bail was set as per chart at $25,000.00. Lawrence was booked and transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing, which is set for June 16, 2025, at the Superior Court.
